Job Description

As a System Security Engineer I, you will be responsible for the delivery and performance of Cerner's security solutions and infrastructure. You will develop business continuity and disaster recovery plans, processes and procedures, and maintain global enterprise solutions, layered technology and infrastructures that deliver high availability and performance for end users. In addition, you will lead deployment activities related to new solutions and technologies and perform system maintenance activities. Your responsibilities will include assessing new software releases and patches, developing test plans, and implementation procedures and guidelines. You will lead the design and development of solution performance data collection, alarm and performance criteria, and reporting capabilities and participate in incident, change, and problem management functions.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 4 years total combined higher education and related work experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics; or related field; or equivalent, relevant work experience
  • Ability to obtain the following certifications within 6 months of employment: A+CE, Network+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security
  • Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for your position
  • Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 5 five years of systems management or and implementation work experience, especially Windows and Unix
  • At least 5 five years of experience working in firewalls the system security field.
  • At least 3 three years' experience in packet capture and analysis, malware products including: cisco amp, open dns, and carbon black, deploying secure systems, defining security configuration response, and processing POA&M and Risk Analysis documents
  • Experience with eMASS system
  • Experience with information-gathering and data analytics to fuel data-driven decision-making
  • Experience with configuration management and automation tooling (Chef, SCCM, Active Directory, Group Policy, Ansible)
Expectations
  • Must reside in or around the Kansas City area
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation as needed
  • Willing to travel up to 20% as needed
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work under corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within the scope of the position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
