Job Description
As a System Security Engineer II, you will be responsible for the delivery and performance of Cerner's security solutions and infrastructure. You will lead the development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, process and procedures and maintain global enterprise security solutions and infrastructure delivering high availability and performance. In addition, you will lead deployment activities related to new solutions and technologies and perform system maintenance activities. Your responsibilities will include assessing new software releases and patches, contribute to development of test plans, and develop implementation procedures and guidelines. You will lead the design and development of solution performance data collection, alarm and performance criteria and reporting capabilities as well as participate in incident, change and problem management functions.Qualifications Basic Qualifications- At least 8 years total combined higher education and related work experience, including:
- At least 2 years of Information systems security work experience
- At least 6 years higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job, including:
- Bachelors degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics; or related field; or equivalent, relevant work experience
- At least 5 years systems management or implementation work experience
- At least 5 years experience working in firewalls
- At least 3 years experience in packet capture and analysis, malware products including: cisco amp, open dns, and carbon black
- Must reside in or around the Kansas City area
- Ability to obtain the following certifications within 6 months of employment: A+CE, Network+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security
- Ability to participate in on-call rotation as needed
- Willing to travel up to 20% as needed
- Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
- Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
