The Microsoft Power BI Data Visualization Developer will assist the organization as it evolves from a cross-tabular reporting environment to one utilizing Power BI dashboards and SSRS reports. This position will be a key member of the team tasked with transforming the enterprise reporting platform to a visually impactful dashboard environment with robust analytical capabilities. Additionally, this role will consult directly with IT and Business Users to build reports and dashboards based on their needs. Strong communication skills will be key, as it will be necessary to effectively share data insights with IT and Business teams. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in data storytelling and dashboard design with a proven ability to create visually compelling, interactive reports and dashboards to communicate meaningful data insights.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement impactful business visualizations, dashboards, and reports to deliver consumer insights.
- Iteratively deliver business intelligence solutions as part of a collaborative team made up of members from several financial, operational, data and analytics disciplines.
- Develop complex queries, views, and stored procedures to support BI visualizations.
- Develop and maintain BI semantic models to power self-service and data discovery for marketing and business users.
- Develops understanding of data environment and leverages knowledge to build robust, scalable solutions.
- Provide production support and solve complex business intelligence challenges.
- Ensure all data is appropriately validated.
- Communicate the status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to all stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline.
- 5+ years of proven experience building and operating business intelligence solutions for analysis.
- Demonstrated ability understand business needs and translate those into meaningful and immersive visualizations, dashboards, and reports that drive business insights using Power BI Pro and Premium.
- Strong facilitation and consensus building skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong presentation skills.
- Ability to train others to become proficient in Power BI.
- Proven experience developing and operating BI semantic models.
- Familiarity with SSAS tabular data models and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX).
- Proficient in SQL.
- Knowledgeable in querying data stored using a broad range of data modeling techniques.
- Ability to concisely document data processes.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience.
- 3 years Minimum related work experience
- Intermediate (practical application) Spreadsheet tools (e.g. Excel)
- Advanced (applied theory) PowerBI, Looker, Tableau or Similar
