A leading Medical Device Client in Kirksville, MO is looking for a Process Support Engineer to join their team! The Process Support Engineer will serve internal Operations and Quality Assurance. Additional support as needed to external Plant Operations, Global Engineering, New Product Development (NPD), and Research and Development (R&D). The Process Support Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting molding processes, project management for repairs, new equipment, and mold development, to ensure proper product release for production. This includes the support of new mold construction, process development / process validation, writing and executing qualification protocols, and develop measurement analysis routines on automated measurement equipment. Project Management:

  • Coordinate major production mold repair/modification activities.
  • Provide project schedules and monitor mold transfer progress to anticipate problems and develop solutions before they become critical, and use defined metrics to report progress.
  • Prepare reports and provide status updates and effectively communicate the results to management.
  • Responsible for creating measurement routines on automated equipment.
Mold Development:
  • Cooperation with Design: Cooperates with mold designers in the debugging and testing of new designs, and in the application of trade skills, as needed, to fulfill the design intent for all new molds.
  • Provide specialized problem solving on new and existing molds through the use of systematic processes and other relevant techniques.
  • Assis in the development of product specifications for all new molded products.
  • Purchase Services: Is responsible for purchase requisitions as required for mold construction and repair activities.
  • Documentation: Responsible for writing IQ/OQ/PQ protocols and final reports.
Process Development:
  • Complete process development through the use of systematic approaches, employing rigorous mold tryout process and other relevant techniques.
  • Set-up and debug new and existing molds.
Mold Improvement:
  • Coordinate major mold repair activities.
  • Manage design improvements/changes to current molds.
  • Responsible for the documentation of all mold repair and/or mold modification activities.
  • Coordinate risk assessment or change controls for all mold repair/modification activities as needed.
Technical Support:
  • Provide technical support for Quality and Operations.
  • Provide troubleshooting expertise and to provide direction in the repair and maintenance of new and current molds or equipment.
  • Understand mold construction and injection molding processing.
  • Mold Design and/or Mold making experience preferred.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications: - Plastic injection molding process experience- CAD Software Experience- Experience with Robotics & automated equipment- Familiarity with RJG Systematic molding techniques and DFM principles
