TITLE: Senior Architect

LOCATION: Maryland Heights, Missouri

JOB SUMMARY: Design, deploy, and maintain core applications supporting Charter Communication's production customer services and internal support systems. Evaluate and select commercial and open-source tools for large-scale systems providing high availability, geographic diversity and low latency. Develop software and applications using Java programming, Linux operating systems, and REST web services. Utilize REST service development in enterprise deployments. Utilize Enterprise Architecture frameworks in a large enterprise environment. Formulate design patterns for GUI applications, complex workflows, rules engines, network element integration and performance monitoring and support tools. Install, configure and test applications and tools in a lab environment. Document and communicate test results, selection criteria and technical and business recommendations for new hardware and software platforms. Define and document development techniques, tools and technology standards for specific business or technical needs. Create and present technology strategies, roadmaps and project recommendations for senior management. Analyze functional and non-functional requirements of new projects and applications and map them to existing standard solution components or proposed new solutions. Author and review technical criteria in Request for Proposal documents and Statement of Work documents. Support the design, testing, performance tuning, deployment and operational issues in enterprise systems. Perform code reviews for all major initiatives. Stay current with trends and innovations in the Cable and IT industry and make development recommendations.

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field. 5 years of experience in developing software applications; utilizing Java programming in software and application development; performing REST service development used in enterprise deployments; and using Enterprise Architecture in large enterprise environments.
