Job Summary

DevOps Engineers are responsible for building, maintaining, automating software and infrastructure in customer environments to ensure reliability, scalability, and meeting organizational needs.

As a DevOps Engineer you will work closely with our customers engineering teams implementing DevOps best practices and delivering on customer delight. This includes hands-on involvement in building CI/CD pipelines along with automated provisioning of infrastructure. In addition to technical skills, you will also be relied on to consult with clients through their DevOps journey.

Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions/Competencies

Key responsibilities for DevOps Engineers:
  • Maintain existing and future software and infrastructure as code
  • Continued focus of making improvements to existing customer environments
  • Recommend and help implement new technologies to drive efficiency and reliability
  • Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfers and mentorship to peers as required
  • Help implement and improve CI/CD pipelines for software and infrastructure

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required
  • A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree

Work Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in configuring and managing infrastructure

The following knowledge, technical skills, or attributes are required:

  • Experience working within a DevOps environment
  • Technical background in DevOps, Software Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering
  • Experience with the full software delivery lifecycle and working in complex enterprise environments
  • Proficiency in building and managing Linux and/or Windows Systems
  • Experience working with containers, IaaS, PaaS, and public cloud environments
  • Experience with CI/CD principles, practices, and tools
  • Experience with Infrastructure automation (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to comprehend and implement new technologies
  • Ability to context-switch between multiple projects, codebases, and concepts with ease
  • Ability and desire to bridge silos and bring different teams together while working towards a common goal
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
  • Experience working in an Agile environment

The following knowledge, technical skills, and attributes are preferred:
  • General understanding of DevOps principles and Agile Development processes
  • Strong mentorship and presentation skills, comfortable working directly with clients
  • High attention to detail and able to solve complex challenges
  • Experience with deployment automation and orchestration

Working conditions (if needed)
  • Travel as required, on average up to 40-60% during the work week
