Job Description

Red Wing Shoe Company is looking for a Equipment Maintenance Technician to be responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all equipment owned and operated by Red Wing Shoe Company in Potosi, MO.

Must comply with all Red Wing Shoe policies and procedures including but not limited to safety and quality. This job description does not list all the duties of the job. You may be asked by your supervisor or managers to perform other duties.

Day shift positions will be starting at $17.00 per hour. Corehours will be 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM Monday – Thursday. 6:30 AM – 12:30 PM on Fridays. However, OT hours are currently in effect which areMonday – Friday 9.5 hours and Saturday 6 to 8.5 hours.

Night shift position will be starting at $17.78 per hour. Core hours will be 4:30 PM to 3:00 AM Monday – Thursday). Overtime could be Friday night 10 hours. This candidate will trainon days.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be able to identify and operate basic tools and materials used in machine repair.
  • Possess basic trouble shooting knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatics, electric and schematics.
  • Have a basic understanding of electrical fundamentals. Distinguish between AC & DC voltages, proven knowledge of 110V-220V, single phase/ 3 phase voltages.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electric motors and controls components.
  • Responsible for the installation of new machinery, troubleshooting and repairing of both mechanical and electrical systems on production equipment, packaging lines, conveyor systems and other equipment as needed within the manufacturing facility.
  • Maintenance electrician position proficiency in troubleshooting breakdowns of machinery.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics including but not limited to schematics, regulators, valves, tracing airlines, troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Effectively work with machine operators to assure optimal operating effectiveness and preventative maintenance of machines (e.g., oil & cleaning of machines) and workstations.
  • Work orders will be prioritized and completed as soon as possible to support the needs of manufacturing.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • High School diploma or equivalent, associate degree in related filed preferred.
  • Willingness to attend educational classes/seminars as needed to continuously develop skills.
  • Prefer previous Maintenance Technician or Multi-Craft Technician experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDSMust be able to lift up to 75 lbs. on a consistent basis. Do repetitive bending, lifting, and twisting. Must be able to work 2nd shift hours and overtime on an as-needed basis to ensure maintenance priorities and goals are met. Must have good attendance record.
