Job Summary

The Agile Consultant is primarily accountable for facilitating agile transformations for WWT clients' Organizations, their leaders and their teams, both within and outside of IT. They develop and implement a consistent, repeatable approach to successfully lead, plan, direct, coordinate and execute agile transformation engagements. They lead the agile transformation engagement by holding responsibility and accountability, ensuring success both for teams and the organization as a whole. The Consulting Agile Coach is also responsible for coaching WWT clients' leaders to help them become better agile leaders, and lead and facilitate the agile transformation's governance with the client's key stakeholders and WWT's consulting leads. This position holds the responsibility and accountability ensure the quality delivery of WWT's services as well as the engagement of the project's consulting team. As the leader of the project, the Consulting Agile Coach will facilitate the consulting teams' alignment as well as driving the engagement's agile transformation and technical recommendations and decisions.

The Agile Consultant is accountable to support WWT's business development activities by representing the Agile Transformation & Software Craftsmanship practice in conversations with clients. The Consulting Agile Coach is also expected to engage in the creation of new offerings and services as well as in the practice's continuous improvement initiatives.

This position reports to the Director of Agile Transformation & Software Craftsmanship and is considered a peer to the Tech Mentors. The Agile Consultant is expected to collaborate with others to help teams deliver successfully and is expected to escalate if problems are not being addressed.

Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions/Competencies

• Provide strategic and tactical leadership in agile transformation and tech mentoring engagements, ensure clarity and alignment around the engagement and the client's priorities and goals

• Facilitate agile transformation at organizational, leadership, and team level

• Lead large group activities including workshops, feedback sessions, retrospectives, ideations, story mapping, and other interactive sessions

• Coach WWT clients' leaders, individuals and teams to facilitate and accelerate the client agile transformation

• Work collaboratively with clients, consulting team members as well as other WWT practices

• Catalyze our organization's standards for consulting engagement and client interactions

• Take on engagements' escalation and resolution duties where needed, representing WWT in front of high-level customer stakeholders, and providing objective and accurate reports to WWT leadership when called upon

• Guide and advise practice leadership where needed to ensure prospective and current engagements are effectively supported

• Participate as needed and when available in the enablement of the account teams seeking to sell WWT services, providing assets, advice, pre- and post-sales customer interaction to promote a more effective and successful sales process

• Understand and align to the overall goals and objectives of the Agile Transformation & Software Craftsmanship practice, collaborating and assisting wherever possible to promote the success of the practice and WWT as a whole

• Proactively engage and co-develop continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance the practice's effectiveness

Qualifications

Education

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience required.

Work Experience

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in agile transformation consulting and leading large, multi-faceted projects

• 10+ years of pragmatic IT and/or software development and delivery experience

• Experience working with delivery teams using a variety of agile practices: stand-ups, pairing, continuous integration, continuous delivery, retrospectives and whole-team approach

• Successfully leveraged agile practices, tools and frameworks without becoming reliant upon any single approach

Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience in leading high-value customer engagements related to agile adoption and transformation

• A strong background in delivering Agile Transformations and/or Agile Solutions

• Critical thinker with the ability to navigate poorly defined problems

• Deep understanding of Kanban Method and other reflective-improvement frameworks

• Broad understanding of agile methodologies including Lean, Kanban, Scrum, XP, and SAFe

• Ability to facilitate retrospectives, project kick-off activities and other ceremonies

• Ability to effectively gain buy-in and teach Agile practices, principles and values

• Highly motivated and dependable with excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

• Able to excel in high-pressure situations

• Excellent personal presence with proven ability to represent and work with all levels of management internally and externally
