Research Informatics at Eurofins Discovery plays a fundamental part of building an understanding of the role targets & pathways play in disease as well as assessing and enabling decision making around hits, leads, and their optimization towards Candidates. You will be working closely with our multi-disciplinary team members to develop innovative approaches that help drive projects and identify solutions for our clients.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle and will have basic knowledge of managing and storing chemical and/or biological data.
The position will work in close collaboration with teams of chemists, biologists, data architects, data scientists, and others stakeholders spread across multiple countries, and will contribute to the design and development of highly innovate products involving state-of-art informatics solutions part of our AI-enabled and data science drug discovery.
Qualifications
The Ideal Candidate would possess:- Knowledge and experience using cheminformatics and bioinformatics libraries and databases preferably in a drug discovery environment;
- Exposure to Machine Learning frameworks and integration within larger software platforms;
- Design and Implementation of relational, non-relational, big data and big data analytics databases.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a research program environment and delivery informatics platforms that are strategically aligned with organizational goals and resources.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or related fields;
- Minimum 5 years previous experience as a software engineer;
- Solid exposure to lead engineering best practices, including automated functional testing and rapid release cycles;
- Independent level of proficient in more than one programming and scripting languages (i.e. .Net, Java, C, Python, R, HTML5, JavaScript, etc.), including both server and client side technologies;
- Demonstrated ability to work with front-end frameworks such as, Angular, React and Flask;
- Experience designing and implementing REST APIs and defining and implementing security best security practices;
- Experience using software containers;
- Solid knowledge using Cloud providers, namely AWS;
- Experience with data visualization tools, SQL and non SQL databases;
- Skilled with relational, non-relational, big data and big data analytics databases.
