Northwest HealthCare, located six miles west of Christian Hospital, provides the community 24-hour emergency care, with Washington University Physicians and St. Louis Children’s Hospital providing pediatric services. Northwest HealthCare is also home to the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of full-service outpatient diagnostic and imaging services in a convenient setting.


Role Purpose

Responsible for leading the development and implementation of patient safety initiatives. Translates patient safety ideas, strategies and research into actionable plans and integrates these plans into hospital operations. Oversees and assists Administration and management in understanding and complying with Joint Commission and other regulatory standards. Has oversight responsibility for Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management/ Patient Safety and is accountable for the strategic development implementation and oversight of these programs.


Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and manages hospital-wide Regulatory Compliance Program, including providing coaching to staff throughout the process.
  • Develops and manages a hospital-wide Patient Safety and Risk Management Programs to detect, evaluate, and prevent potential for harm to patients, visitors and employees, and minimize financial loss.
  • Responsible for being on 24 hour call for the entire HSO on a rotational basis.
  • Develops and implements strategies that ensure the organization maintains a state of perpetual readiness for any and all reviews by regulatory agencies and to achieve a level of quality and services that exceed regulatory requirements.
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5-10 years of experience
  • 5-10 years of supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business or related field
  • Registered Nurse (RN) License
