Accountant

Location: Springfield, MODuration: Long Term

General Responsibilities: Responsible for month-end close, including journal entries, bank and credit card reconciliation, balance sheet and G/L reconciliation and account analysis, fixed asset schedules, and preparation of financial statements. Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and priorities for the accounting function. Manage day to-day finance transactional activities, e.g., A/P, A/R, collections, and cash applications. Manage and review monthly customer billing. Direct and participate in cost analyses. Manage fiscal year-end, prepare external audit materials, and coordinate and communicate results with FP&A. Review contracts for revenue recognition implications. Communicate summaries of accounting processes and/or findings to business owners and FP&A. Coordinate with both external and internal auditors to complete financial audits and strengthen internal controls.

Requirements: Focus is on more complex accounts and transactions that require a greater degree of judgment and problem solving skills to reconcile or process. Routine processes take no more than 50% of regular time. Ability to work directly with business partners, and run meetings independently Associate
