Job Description

As a Network Engineer I, you will design, support, install, and maintain Cerner's internal network infrastructure, related technologies and equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining local area network and wireless network components as well as maintain hardware components, including firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches and access points as well as troubleshoot network connectivity issues. As a member of this team, you will also perform project work to update network equipment while also configuring or upgrading network components while completing assigned incident management tasks.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 4 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education including:
    • Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field or equivalent relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Networking Industry Certifications (Brocade, Cisco or Aruba)
  • Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) - CWNP
  • Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) - Cisco
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) - Cisco
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Wireless - Cisco

Expectations
  • Must reside in or around the Springfield, MO area
  • Willing to travel up to 20% as needed
  • May be required to lift up to 30 lbs, i.e. server, network equipment
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
