- Develop new, accurate, effective & efficient programs from specifications either provided to you or created by you
- Maintain existing programs with changes requested either through specifications provided to you or created by you
- Thoroughly unit test all code changes
- Accurately document changes you’ve made in accordance with the company’s documentation requirements
- Communicate with the business community in any stage of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Understand the relationship between mainframe & open systems applications
- Continue your professional development by taking relevant insurance, technical and/or project management classes
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with constant change
- Resolve problems in the production environment
- Bachelor’s degree in CIS or Computer Science
- Object-oriented programming experience in C# or VB.NET
- Strong analytical, communication, organizational and technology skills
- Knowledge of Visual Studio on .NET framework a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, e.g. Excel, Word and Outlook
- Knowledge of SQL, XML/JSON and Web Services (Soap and REST) a plus
- Knowledge of multi-layered service-based architectures a plus
- Knowledge of insurance operations a plus
