DescriptionSAIC is looking for a well-qualified Senior Systems Administrator to join an exciting program in Springfield, VA. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a willingness to learn. Responsibilities: - Provides day-to-day operational maintenance support - installation, configuration, securing and hardening, testing, sustainment, upgrading, remediation and decommissioning of enterprise server-based solutions across the IT enterprise's multi-platform (Microsoft, nix, etc.) information systems varying in size and complexity (LAN, MAN, WAN, etc.). Existing server-based solutions include a variety of major technology vendors include but not limited to Citrix, Esri, McAfee, Microsoft, Red Hat, ServiceNow and SolarWinds. The majority of enterprise services are hosted on enterprise Microsoft Windows Server implementations but there are also select stand-ups of Linux distributions as well. A wide and deep range of technical knowledge and experience as well as the technical aptitude and self initiative to learn and grow. Support the mid-level internal escalation tier(s) for the team providing troubleshooting support and guidance to assess and remediate challenges in the server system, application and services. Contributes to the production and maintenance of documentation for the Server team's solution system(s), sub-system(s) and component(s) deployed and in use in the IT Solution's portfolio.QualificationsClearance - An active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for access to sensitive compartmented information (TS/SCI)
The ability to complete a polygraph
Education / Experience -
Bachelor's Degree and 5 years experience or Master's Degree and 3 years experience. Additional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
-Minimum 5 or more years hands-on experience providing O&M support of enterprise server operating systems (Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and server applications and services such as Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, File Services, SQL Server and SharePoint)
Additional years of experience can be accepted in lieu of a degree. Certifications & Professional Training
An associates or higher level college degree in an appropriately computer-related field from an accredited university [OR] or one of the following certifications: - The CompTIA A+CE certification The CompTIA Network+CE certification, or - The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc. (ISC2) Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP); or - Minimum credential requirements for a Journeyman proficiency level for specialist area OPERATE & MAINTAIN - SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR (451) as outlined in SECNAV M-5239.2.
Desired Qualifications
An active Top Secret clearance with access to SCI;
Having completed a polygraph within the last five (5) years;
Certifications on Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 7 or newer)
Effective communication and customer service skills.
