The Release Train Engineer is a servant leader, coach, and facilitator for a team of agile teams, or an agile release train (ART). The RTE is an incredibly important role that communicates with stakeholders, facilitates process and execution, escalates impediments, helps the team manage risk, and drives relentless improvement across their organization.

On BSM ART you will lead a multi-discipline ART which develops, delivers, and support the multiple aircraft programs training systems and simulations world-wide.

An RTEs responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools, such as the Program Kanban and other information radiators
  • Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs)
  • Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process which drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings
  • Facilitate PI planning events
  • Assist tracking the execution of features and capabilities
  • Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings
  • Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
  • Assure the correct individuals on the ART own, mitigate, and communicate issues and risks
  • Escalate and track impediments
  • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
  • Encourage collaboration between teams and System Architects/Engineering
  • Work with Product Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
  • Improve the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the DevSecOps and Release on Demand competency
  • Work with enterprise agile centers of excellence
  • Drive relentless improvement
  • Foster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-In Quality practices

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • 5 years Agile experience
