- The client is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design and manage the business use of extremely large datasets and lead efficient database release deliverables.
- As a Senior Data Engineer, you will report to a Senior Manager, you will support a team to assure the database release, along with its associated software, satisfies the requirements of our customer for systems that are essential to the infrastructure of the client.
- Translate business functions into conceptual, logical and physical data models.
- Build data mappings for new systems and data migration projects.
- Implement the subject area of business functions and publish the models for collaborative development.
- Analyze databases in different aspects such as data integrity, technical debt, data model, security (DAR), availability and performance.
- Work with stakeholders to create a technology roadmap to fix the findings.
- Design distributed database solutions in AWS such as the Relational Database Service (RDS).
- Design and maintain Oracle RDBMS.
- Lead the review of system designs and architecture for performance, security, scalability, and high availability.
- Collaborate with and support our software developers, database architects, data analysts and data scientists on data projects and will ensure data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects.
- Develop software in a distributed system/Cloud environment using BIG data technologies.
- Assess and support peer code reviews, database defect support, and provide backup production support as needed.
- Work with DevOps to package releases and ensure the process follows CI/CD and change management.
- Implement large-scale projects in both waterfall and agile; and estimate and scope work.
- Manage expectations of software delivery with partners, resource planning, and effort estimation and guide the data projects for technically sound solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree with a major or specialized courses in Information Technology or commensurate experience.
- Large-scale data warehousing and analytical projects, including using AWS technologies – EC2, S3, RDS, Redshift, Glue, DMS, Spark and other Big Data Technologies.
- Relational SQL, NoSQL databases.
- Oracle and Postgres.
- Creating complex data models for OLTP, Data Warehouse, logical Data warehouse applications.
- Current knowledge of building data models, data layer using data federation and master data management.
- Candidates with less experience may be considered at a lower job grade or salary.
- Travel (5%).
