1. Assists the Director(s) of Nursing in coordinating, directing, implementing, and evaluating the functions of the 24 hour Nursing Care Facility in accordance with Federal, State, and MQMC guidelines.

2. Assists Surveyors and Inspection Team to include the development and review of Plan of Corrections for Deficiencies noted during Survey Inspections.

3. Schedules meetings for all nursing personnel.

4. Provide, schedule and oversee in-service training for nursing personnel.

5. Coordinates Fall Committee. Conducts interdisciplinary meeting to provide the safest and least restrictive devices to prevent residents from injury. Updates fall care plan.

6. Conducts in-services to provide the highest level of cleanliness for the residents.

7. Ensures that all laboratory tests are done that are standing orders.

8. Schedule and assign employee evaluations and monitor completion. Review overdue evaluations and monitor completion.

9. Coordinates Restraint committee.

10. Conducts multiple Daily Rounds to ensure that all Nursing Staff are performing and delivering Quality Care to the Residents in accordance to State, Federal, and MQMC guidelines.

11. Communicates with Pharmacy and Laboratory to ensure appropriate monitoring and responding as necessary to the Services and Deliveries to maintain State and Federal Compliance.

12. Helps with updating policies and procedures to meet federal and state guidelines.

13. Co-chairs Quality meetings and presents quarterly.

14. Coordinates the weekly Weight committee. Reviews weights and provides schedule for weekly weights. Monitors monthly weights and provides schedule to staff for monthly weights.

15. Audits resident’s records for care and completion of all assessments.

16. Performs other duties as assigned.

17. Positively Cooperates, Accepts, and Supports Assignments and or Changes made by DON and or Administrator.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

1. Must be currently licensed and qualified as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri.

2. Five years experience in long term care nursing.

3. Knowledge of regulations pertaining to long term care.

4. Good organizational skills, ability to perform multi-tasks simultaneously, prioritization skills, flexibility, counseling skills, good problem solving skills and action oriented.

1. Able to follow instruction and generalize from instructions.

2. Be a self-starter. Able to plan and organize work.

8. Able to perform the physical/mental functions/requirements of the position.

RELATIONSHIPS REQUIREMENTS

Frequent contact with residents, visitors, employees, physicians, vendors, and other professionals. Must be able to assess and service the needs of those persons through proper referral.

Supervision of care provided to the residents of Mary, Queen and Mother Center and supervision of Quality measures of care.
