Job Description
As a Systems Engineer, you will perform daily system operations tasks to verify system integrity and availability. You will perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware/OS upgrades, and resource optimization. You will also implement monitoring for applications and servers, and respond to alarms in a timely manner, preventing client impact and performance degradation. In this role, you will manage changes and project activities, and communicate with impacted stakeholders. You will develop and deploy automation tools to optimize daily activities. You will complete assigned incident management tasks. You will deploy, setup, and maintain complex testing environments. Working Environment Hybrid or Remote This position offers a Hybrid or Remote working environment. Meaning if you live within a metro area of a Cerner office, you will split working time between a Cerner office and remote. If you are not within a metro area of a Cerner office, you can live and work in your current geographical location and work primarily remote. #LI-Hybrid #RemoteQualifications Basic Qualifications:- At least 6 years of total combined related work experience and completed higher education including:
- At least 1 year System administration and/or system engineering work experience
- At least 5 years additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering
- Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for your position
- Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to an alread y virtually approved location; preferred location Kansas City
- May be required to lift up to 20 lbs., i.e. server, network equipment
- Willing to travel up to 25% as needed
- Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
- Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
