Primary Responsibilities

Oversee Lumber Yard Division sales efforts.

Responsible for customer relationships with all the divisions customers by spending time in the field with customers, updating their knowledge of products and services and maintaining continual communication with the customer base.

Partner with customers to develop long-term relationships, generate additional sales, and guide problem resolution and discussions.

Increase sales and profitability for the cooperative through the implementation of sales, marketing and consulting processes for United Quality products and cooperative services.

Develop new business and grow existing business.

Become a subject matter expert and local technical resource for customers and cooperative staff.

Stay informed on industry trends and information.

Product training.

Attend various state and industry conventions, training, and other marketing based activities. Develop professional relationships within the respective organizations.

Assist in the operations of the Lumber Yard as needed.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, Agriculture or three to five years related work experience preferred. Training will be provided.

Excellent communication and team building skills, with an ability to listen to customer needs and provide solutions.

Experience in business development and outside sales with knowledge of professional selling techniques, negotiation techniques and account development strategies.

Ability to multi-task with conflicting priorities in a pressured environment while maintaining a customer oriented demeanor.

Knowledge of the construction industry.

Previous building supplies sales experience.

Previous background in home construction & building supplies.

Computer Skills with knowledge of basic office systems.

Travel Required. Valid driver's license is required.

Self-directed and able to prioritize and meet deadlines with professional quality results.

Ability to think proactively, anticipate customer needs and ask for and close the sale.
