We are looking for a self-motivated Product Development Intern who is smart and can get things done. If you have Python and JavaScript experience and are looking to work in a cutting-edge healthcare market developing kick-ass software as part of a great team, this could be the right job for you.

Job Description

As a member of our product development team, you will work under the guidance of the VP of Product & Engineering and our Senior Engineers to convert designs and specifications into computer code for both our server and desktop based clinical interpretation products (VSWarehouse and VarSeq). You will also have the opportunity to learn about genetics, interface with other roles inside the company, write documentation and help troubleshoot bugs.

This is a part time position, working an average of 20 hours a week during the school year and up to 40 hours a week during the summer. A full time position is available for the right candidate after graduation.

Requirements

Masters-level student ability to self-manage projects and turn specifications into solutions. Undergraduates with experience in side-projects or part-time work are considered equivalently.

Python and JavaScript (ES6, TypeScript) experience preferred, with C skills highly desired.

Experience with web front-end stacks, databases and Linux administration desired but not required.

Exceptional problem solving and communication skills.

Self-directed and able to work well independently.

Background in mathematics and/or life sciences a plus.
