Sunset Elementary School is hiring a 1.0FTE Elementary teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. 00 Elementary license is required. Sunset Elementary School is a rural, two room schoolhouse located in Greenough, MT on the Paws up Ranch, approximately 35 miles from Missoula and 25 miles from Seeley Lake. Expected enrollment for next year is 17 students total in grades K-8. Each classroom will have 8-9 students. We employ 2 teachers and a teachers aide, and contract for special education services. We also contract with a certified art teacher to teach visual arts 2x per month and a music instructor 1x per week for one semester.
This is a multi-grade position. Specifically, the incoming teacher will be responsible for teaching two sections of ELA and two sections of science (K-4 and 5-8), while the other teacher teaches math and social studies to each group. Other subjects will be assigned based on individual interests and strengths. This is a unique opportunity to grow as a teacher in a supportive environment rich in resources and with a great deal of autonomy. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is highly organized, hard-working, creative, and interested in learning to teach all grade levels, K-8.
Starting salary is $30,000 for a first year teacher. Benefits include health, dental, and optical insurance paid 100% for individual coverage and 10 sick/personal days.
