Summary: Assists in the flow of operations at the Poverello Center to ensure the Center's services meet clients' needs in accordance with our mission, maintains information resources for Poverello Center staff and management.

Reports to: Director of Operations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Performs duties in a manner consistent with the Poverello Center's Mission

2. Assists managerial staff with administrative duties as requested

3. Files documents and manages paperwork overflow

4. Prepares outgoing mail, delivers to post office as necessary.

5. Orders office supplies and monitors inventory

6. Assists with production and printing/mailing of newsletters, thank you letters and appeal letters

7. Assist with staff recruiting, hiring, and retention efforts

8. Assists in maintance of employee files

9. Maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships with employees, peers, and outside agencies

10. Assists with organizing staff meetings and internal training sessions as requested

11. Maintains copier count and reports to vendor.

12. Order nametags and business cards when needed.

13. Maintains office equipment and assists with vendor communications.

14. Maintains an orderly and tidy office area.

15. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

Demonstrated written and oral communication skills

High degree of discretion dealing with confidential information

Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team

Typing skills with at least 50 WPM

Word processing and data entry skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Excel and Access

Knowledge of general office machines (copier/fax) and multi-line telephone system

Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others

Successful completion of a thorough background investigation

Current Driver's License

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Exposure to unpleasant sights, sounds and odors is frequently encountered.
