Development Director -
Watson Children's Shelter is seeking a full-time development director that shares our passion for providing uncompromising programs and services to children. Working in close collaboration with the executive director, the development director oversees all aspects of fund development for the agency. Primary focus areas include major gifts cultivation and solicitation, ongoing donor stewardship, planned giving, grant research and writing, event planning and execution, public relations, and the development of an annual fundraising plan.
Additional duties include direct supervision of the full-time development coordinator, annual appeals, managing the agency's donor database, providing the executive director and board of director's development reports and updates, and coordination of the board's development committee. The development director reports directly to the executive director and is a crucial member of the agency's senior leadership team.
Candidates must hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree and demonstrated success in fundraising activities. Additional requirements include excellent oral, written, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and articulate the need for support of the mission, services, and impact of the agency's work. Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of related experience, hold the CFRE credential, and be able to demonstrate their commitment and passion for our work.
