Job Description: Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator

Summary: Respectfully facilitates an open, inviting and rewarding environment for volunteers, community members and groups.

Reports to: Imagine Missoula Board

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Performs duties in a manner consistent with the Imagine Missoula's mission and works comfortably with diverse populations.

2. Solicits, trains, coordinates placements, supports, evaluates and oversees volunteers.

3. Coordinates volunteer opportunities based on the identified needs and the capacity of the Imagine Missoula program.

4. Conducts volunteer orientations.

5. Maintains a supply list available to volunteers including lawn care items, tools, etc.

6. Develops an awareness of resources in Missoula to send referrals when necessary.

7. Maintains the volunteer database and volunteer contact information.

8. Creates and facilitates appreciation events for volunteers, sends thank you letters and nominates outstanding performers for community based volunteer awards.

9. Responds to volunteer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

10. Promotes community volunteerism for Imagine Missoula.

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Montana driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Successful completion of a thorough background investigation.

Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience)

Prior experience in customer service or civic engagement.

Proficiency in and ability to utilize computer technology and software to maintain volunteer database and workflow (i.e. Google Docs, Microsoft Office, etc.).

Needs to be highly self-motivated and be able to work independently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk/listen. Employee may occasionally need to be able to visit a job site, client residence, partnering organization, and represent Imagine Missoula well.
