YWCA Missoula is looking for 2 Part-Time Pathways Advocates
QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of YWCA advocate training
Crisis line and response experience preferred
Reliable phone for contact with volunteers during weekend relief shifts
Consistent availability on evenings/weekends
High school diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred
Current Montana driver's license and proof of auto insurance in compliance with Montana state law.
Must pass a background check designed to protect the interest of women and children served by the YWCA programs.
Ability to maintain confidential information.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a variety of individuals, including clients, peers and supervisors.
Good work habits, including punctuality and ability to organize and manage time and information.
Ability to accept, act on and offer constructive criticism.
DUTIES- PARTIAL LIST
Provides guidance and support to the volunteer advocate staff
Meets potential residents; provides intake screening and placement into Shelter during shift.
Provides trauma-centered and survivor-focused advocacy to residents in the shelter.
Facilitates resolution with crises that may arise during the shift.
Provides trauma-centered and survivor-focused crisis counseling and support as needed at the Shelter.
Facilitates problem solving with residents as issues arise in the Shelter.
Communicates to the house meeting facilitator any concerns/issues to be addressed in meetings; facilitates meetings upon request.
Maintains confidential written client files as needed.
HOURS/DAYS: Part-time, 20 hours per week. Will work varied week days, evening and weekend hours, to be discussed at interview. This position will work weekends regularly.
WAGE: $14.00/hour.
DEGREE: High School diploma or HiSET Equivalency diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
