Position Summary:The person holding this position is responsible for all molding functions within the manufacturing unit. This includes leading validations for molds and equipment, continuous improvement projects, meeting business objectives and providing supervision to the unit's molding personnel

Essential Roles:
  • Responsible for all work required to upgrade molds, bring in new molds and molding equipment, including procuring and managing capital, coordinating with corporate, dealing with vendors and leading validation activities.
  • Responsible for handling the daily molding-related issues of the production unit, including coordinating with the production Planner, assuring preventive maintenance of molds and molding equipment.
  • Responsible for resolving safety, environmental, productivity, quality, and customer issues related to molding.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of molding including identifying and implementing projects such that annual budget and financial performance objectives are met.
  • Provides coaching, guidance and specific direction to non-exempt technicians to resolve issues and problems.
  • Provides input to the performance management process which includes annual performance objectives and reviews.
  • Acts as the liaison for providing molding support for others' needs including Experimental Work Orders, supporting other worldwide BD molding operations, and corporate requests.

Qualifications

Education:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a Mold Engineering field

Experience:
  • With Bachelor degree: 3-5 years experience in an engineering field, preferred in a molding area
  • Preferred: 2+ years supervisor experience

Proficient Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:
  • Multi-tasking
  • Interpersonal
  • Microsoft Office
  • Technical Associate Supervision (preferred)
  • SAP/MES(preferred)
  • AutoCAD(preferred)
  • Autodesk Inventor(preferred)
