To support the molding associates in the production of high quality and low cost molded components. Level of Education/knowledge needed:Required:High School Diploma or GED

Thorough knowledge of molding machines resins and processes.

Good understanding of mold design and operation

Thorough knowledge of all molded parts, quality specifications and inspection procedures.

Ability to operate a Forklift, Electric Pallet Jack and Electric Stacker

Ability to operate a computer, use email and SAP

Self-motivated and detail oriented

Good verbal communication, organizational and follow-up skills

Problem Solving, able to make judgment calls.

Ability to learn to read molded component drawings.

Processor KSA’sPull/Sets of molding tools.

Address all component defects in a timely manner.

Maintain press/mold/auxiliary control to avoid damage at start-up and shut-down

Be familiar with all inspection/mold approval procedures

Order supplies/materials/Concentrates for the molding area and work with the warehouse.

Create SAP work orders whenever needed.

Assist the mechanics with repairs when needed.

Perform minor repairs to presses and molds

Ensure that molds are processed correctly.

Trouble-shoot and know how to correct problems with molds, presses, processes, and components.

Perform ZM’s when and where needed.

Know the roles and responsibilities of the processors, quality inspectors, machine attendants, and material handlers.

Ensure that parameter sheets are updated.

Ensure that mold protection is checked daily.

Lead by setting a “positive” example for all associates to follow

Updating the molding Board

Lead Tier One and Tier 2 meetings when needed

Assist the Sr. Processor by following MD700212 daily

Promote and Support all the molding department goals. (Safety, Quality, Production, Financial, Scheduling, Miscellaneous, etc.

Safety KSA’sAble to perform proper LOTO procedures

Able to un-jam a plugged grinder properly while following LOTO procedures

Proper disposal of waste-water

Proper clean up and disposal of waste oil

Location of machine safeties

Know and understand machine safeties, pinch points, and danger zones

Will be trained on fall protection safety

Know the proper PPE to use and when it should be used.

Know the location of the MSDS and their use

Demonstrate the safe method for clearing plugged hoppers and runner jams

Know how to safely operate overhead cranes

Know how to properly address large and small oil leaks.

Training KAS’sProvide opportunities for associates to learn more about the molding process

Drive to improve the capabilities of the associates on a daily basis

Coordination/Monitoring KSA’s:Relay/guide work direction

Monitor and Maintain equipment safety devices

Assist in maintaining proper component quality standards.

Assist in maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Monitor, Maintain, and communicate material levels in the silos

Assist the Team Lead, Sr. Processor and Molding Engineers with monitoring efficiencies daily (cycle times, cavity utilization and waste levels

Assist the TL, Sr. Processor and Molding Engineer in monitoring the press cleaning responsibilities

Assist the TL, Sr. Processor and Molding Engineers in monitoring and ensuring part containment issues are addressed daily.

Production KSA’sWill know where the finished goods are stored.

Will be able to take inventory on molded components.

Know how to correctly use and reset the cycle counters at the press

Know how to find, determine, set-up and use approximate part weight and the scales for bulk handled components.

Other FunctionsMiscellaneous cleanup of the area

Other duties, as assigned for the needs of the business.

Working Conditions:Indoor heated and cooled environment

Degree of exposure to dust, dirt, heat, fumes, noise, vibration and chemicals. When working outside, any and all physical elements of weather and temperature may be present. Inside, noise is the major distraction. Earplugs must be worn for both indoor and outdoor work.

Some amount of physical exertion required
