As a steel lab technician, you will work closely with clients and other members of the Olsson team in conducting laboratory testing related to material mechanical properties. You will be responsible for basic Destructive Steel Lab tasks. Responsible for specimen preparation for testing. Responsible for setting up, conducting, and evaluating a variety of materials and welded coupons tests include, CVN Impact and Tensile strength, bend, and other mechanical testing.As at technician your duties will include but not limited to:Test plate, sheet, angle iron, I-beam, and tube productsTest weld coupons for weld quality and strengthSpecimen preparation and managementSetup and operate CNC milling machines, vertical and horizontal band saws, and grindersUse precision measuring equipmentLift and carry up to 80 poundsData entry, analysis, and quality control of resultsPerform calibrations, maintenance and checks of equipment
