Description:

The Software Development Engineer serves as a technical leader in the Software Engineering Department and plays a key role in developing industry leading software for our customers. In this role you will be responsible for defining, developing, and testing complex technical and architectural solutions that support client product strategies and address the market needs of clients and their customers.As a Software Engineer you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, where you can apply your existing knowledge to solve new market problems on almost a daily basis.This is a full-time position in a highly collaborative environment working with other skilled software professionals to deliver high quality software to help clients improve the way they do business.Business Description:Analyzes technical and business procedures and assists in the development of detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Develops, codes, tests, debugs, maintains, modifies, and installs computer software. Recommends major changes in procedures and software development activities.Essential Job Responsibilities:o Lead in developing complex applications based upon technical and functional specificationso Assisting in the development of and adhering to technical and functional standardso Under limited direction, research, define, & complete required additions and changes to financial software productso Under limited direction, analyze technical specifications for both creation of new or enhancing existing applications for compatibility with other systemso Participate in strategic planning sessions and technical discussions and demonstrate the ability to assist in translating ideas into technical designso Design technical and functional specifications used in the development of client software, specifically in the Banking product spaceso Interaction with internal team members across functional areas and across disciplines to include interaction with external clients and third-party entities as neededo Under general supervision analyze and research client issues to determine/confirm software nonconformitieso Under general supervision, log, test and document Code-in-Folder/Hot Fix, Alert/Service Pack and other release cycled code corrections to include risk analysis for Software non-conformitieso Provide research assistance to other analysts and technicians as neededo Adhere to technical and functional standardso Performs other duties as requiredRequired Qualifications:Education:o A completed Bachelor’s Degree in IT, or an Associate’s degree in Computer Programming, or equivalent education in a related discipline is preferred.Job Related Experience:o Minimum 5+ years of experience requiredo Work experience should include extensive knowledge of Core Banking productso A successful candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication skills, and a motivation to achieve best-in-class resultsAdditional Skills/Knowledge:o Knowledge of programming (i.e. program design, flowcharting, coding, testing, debugging, etc.)o Knowledge of how to document program design, coding, and maintenance.o Understanding of how critical project completion is to client satisfaction.o Knowledge of the relationship between software and hardware interaction.o The ability to interact with external and internal clients for the purpose of data gathering and design initiation.o Experience with VB.NET, C#, and Application Server development.o Familiarity with Microsoft® Word & Excelo Financial industry interest and experience is beneficialo Must possess strong knowledge in C#, VB.NET 4.6o Must have experience in window application using C#/VB.NETo .NET Remoting, Windows Workflow Foundation, Multi-threading, Asynchronous communicationo Experience with XMLo Experience with SQL server and SQL Skillso Experience in using SDLC tools including GitHub, JIRA and Jenkinso Experience in Wireshark and Process Monitoro Experience in Agile teamso Experience in Automation using Appiumo Experience in DevOps and CI/CD VIVA USA is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to maintaining a professional working environment that is free from discrimination and unlawful harassment.
