DescriptionLocation: Department of Insurance, 1135 M Street, Suite 300, Lincoln, NE 68508Examples of WorkOne. Input and update producer and agency licensing information on state computer system. Two. Provide efficient and accurate customer service via phone, email, and mail. Three. Verify renewal continuing education, fees, and documentation for completeness. Four. Process producer license renewal applications and license reinstatements. Five. Verify information on the two-year continuing education and pre-licensing education laws and enters data on computer system. Six. Create and compile correspondence to producers and agencies regarding license applications, license renewals, continuing education and pre-licensing education. Seven. Assist in regulatory inspection of courses and programs approved for pre-licensing and continuing education credit to determine if curriculum is instructed as approved. Eight. Prepare continuing education inspection reports of findings. Nine. Research, verify and compile correspondence regarding licensing alerts.Qualifications / RequirementsREQUIREMENTS: Coursework/training in administrative/office support functions, procedures, and methods including the operation of personal computers and office equipment; research; or areas related to the programs and functions of the employing agency OR experience in performing administrative/office/secretarial support work including use of personal computers and office equipment.PREFERRED: Insurance Department/Insurance industry work experience.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of: Principles and practices in record keeping; working knowledge with Word and Excel. Prefer: Knowledge of Nebraska Insurance Statutes, Rules and Regulations. Skill to: Be able to handle multiple tasks at one time, be flexible, work efficiently and accurately; Evaluate workflow and determine priorities. Ability to: Communicate effectively orally and in writing, to exchange information and ideas, summarize technical data and written results of research and monitoring activities into reports; Express ideas and facts to create a comfortable and positive atmosphere for Department personnel and the general public; Understand administrative policies and program guidelines and implement program objectives, performance goals and work priorities to carry out assigned work; Must be able to provide courteous, efficient and knowledgeable service to the producers; organize and file both alpha and numeric; communicate orally with co-workers and general public, understand and apply oral and written instructions.
