Pega Engineer Sr

This position can be located in the follow locations:

Indianapolis, IN; Roanoke, VA; Norfolk, VA; Mason, OH; Atlanta, GA

Responsible for programming on specific application subsets of the company's application portfolio, participating in all phases of the development and maintenance life cycle, typically for an assigned business unit, client program, or corporate department and utilizing various customer technology platforms. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Participate in design and implementing of Healthcare Frameworks including end to end claim processing.
  • Participate in designing enterprise class structure and developing work flows based on guideline and best practices in Pega Applications.
  • Engage in technical discussion and perform Code Reviews, Peer Review, and design review following Test Driven Development.
  • Work on supporting initiatives such as Pilot, POC as well as other technology solutions that involves Automation, Integrations, Activities, Flows (Screen Flow, Tab Flow, Adding Decision, Sub Flows and Integration to Flow).
  • Develop UX/UI Screens, Harness, Sections, Portals, Local Action, Flow Action, Data Transformation, Correspondence, Rule Inspector and Validation rules to meet the business requirements.
  • Work on attaining completed understanding of requirements and understand key concepts then apply to rule resolutions, class structure designs, and reusability solution approaches.
  • Provide technical Framework and solution design approaches in Access Group, Class Group, Access Roles, Privileges, SLA, Worklist, Workbaskets
  • Maintains active relationships with customers to determine business requirements and leads requirements gathering meetings.
  • Ensures unit test is completed and meets the test plan requirements, system testing is completed and system is implemented according to plan.
  • Assesses current status and supports data information planning.
  • Develop technical solutions within the PEGA Application to assist with claims pre-adjudication and post-adjudication.
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including business requirements assessments and the delivery and execution of technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with product architects for application design and perform design and code reviews.
  • Coordinates on-call support and ensures effective monitoring of system. Maintains technical development environment.
  • Mentors others and may lead multiple or small to medium sized projects.
  • Facilitates group sessions to elicit complex information on requirements clarification, design sessions, code reviews and troubleshooting issues.
  • Supports vendor evaluations.
  • Create and maintain well-written documentation, such as deployment procedures, architectural diagrams, incident communication, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Schedule change deployments, upgrades, infrastructure enhancements, maintenance, and other activities.
  • Investigate and summarize major incidents, and pursue follow ups to improve incident detection and faster resolutions.
Qualifications Requires BA/BS degree in related field or technical institute training; Pega Certified - CSA and CSSA, Healthcare experience. 5 or more of total experience in building and implementing model-driven, enterprise-level business solutions using Pega PRPC. Other qualifications necessary:
  • Hands on experience on claim configuration settings and experience on EDI 837 parsing design and implementation.
  • Expert in implementing integrations such as REST, SOAP, File Listener, MQ and Error handling.
  • Experience on creating technical rules such as collections, Activities, Data transforms, Flows, Case Types, Decision rules etc following the branching strategy
  • Adhere to the best practices including but not limited to Pega and team specific Guardrails.
  • Review alert logs to insure quality standards. Run pre-flight and PAL to insure performance and quality.
  • Good understanding of UX/UI and experience on working with Portals, Skins, Flow Action, Sections and all the UI components.
  • Experience in node settings and SMA configurations and must be able to improve the performance of application.
  • Incumbent should also have the ability to mentor others, lead multiple small projects and provide troubleshooting support. Multi dimensional required. Multi database and/or multi language preferred.

Additional Preferred Skills:
  • Hand on experience in Pega PRPC 8.1+, Automated Unit Testing and Devops.
  • Hands on Healthcare and/or Smart Claims Engine framework
  • Experience in node settings and SMA configurations and must be able to improve the performance of application.
  • Experience in creating Functional Design, Construct Class Hierarchy and Object Models and Define Test Strategy.
