The Weld county department of Public Health & Environment is searching for an professional Office Technician. This Office Technician will rotate assignments between the Greeley Office at 1555 N. 17th Avenue and the Del Camino office which is located at 4209 CR 24 ½, Longmont.

Perform a variety of confidential office duties requiring special terminology and considerable exercise of independent judgment.

The ideal candidate(s) for the Office Technician III will:

Have experience providing exceptional customer service to a variety of clients.

Have experience issuing death and birth certificates or similar documents which contain protected personal information.

Be a motivated self-starter, working in a highly team-focused environment.

Be task and detail-oriented and able to meet frequent, routine deadlines.

Have a high level of proficiency using standard office equipment and the Microsoft Office suite, with exceptional data entry skills.

Be adaptable and flexible and willing to accommodate a change of work direction and assignments at a moment's notice, according to the circumstances at hand.

Perform complex duties; type documents, correspondence, reports, case file cards utilizing technical terminology and composition skills requiring accuracy and completeness; coordinate plans and project activities.

Transcribe and compose a variety of confidential documents and correspondence.

Schedule appointments, meetings, and conferences; gather related documentation for distribution at meetings; take and transcribe minutes and notes at hearings, meetings and conferences as required, at times requiring use of technical terminology.

May act as liaison for department with other County offices, agencies, and the public.

Establish and maintain filing systems, pulling files, updating, and replacing them as needed.

Keep informed of new laws and ordinances; answers inquiries from departments and the public regarding resolutions, community projects, and special projects, and special programs requiring considerable exercise of independent judgment.

Assist lower level personnel in performing and coordinating their work as required; train new staff members; and review completed work and recommend changes to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Operate a variety of office equipment including computer terminal and/or personal computer; able to operate variety of software programs such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other process-specific programs. Type and transcribe dictation using transcribing equipment; transcribe medical reports, legal orders, opinions, and letters; attend meetings and record minutes or notes.

Perform moderately complex accounting work; receive and verify information from various sources and enter data into ledgers and other records. Prepare statistical reports and produce financial information as directed.

Professionally interact with peers and the public in person-to-person setting, via telephone, and all electronic methods.

Communicate current and anticipated problems to superior.

Perform related work as required and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent with course work in general office and accounting procedures, business practices, and technical terminology as it relates to the position.

Required work experience:

Three years increasingly responsible position in an office setting, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Have and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license and use of personal, insured vehicle is required to perform duties. Dependable transportation and auto insurance, maintained at all times, as required by State law, is required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Background Investigation: Candidate must be able to pass criminal background check. A pre-employment criminal background check will be conducted as part of the selection process. Felony convictions or conviction of crimes of moral turpitude or convictions of misdemeanors related to job duties may disqualify you from being considered for this position.
