Job Description Supports the operations section and is a master and recognized authority on relevant IT subject matter knowledge, including operations and maintenance, network systems, security technologies. Provides highly innovative solutions. Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives. Responsibilities include troubleshooting systems when necessary and making improvements to the system. Install, configure, service, repair, and maintain infrastructure and systems. Evaluate and resolve customer information system problems, effect required hardware upgrades and repair to maintain mission capability. Install and configure hubs, routers, switches, and various transmission media, server hardware and software, and ensure the proper installation and configuration of end user hardware and software for efficient operation.

Essential Job Functions Candidate must be able to perform the following tasks: • Assists in performing product evaluations and recommends products/services for networks. • Establish and maintain a professional working relationship at multiple levels both internally and with the customer by understanding the customer's business context and their unique situation • Provides technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations. Designs, builds, and implements systems. • Directs compilation of records and reports concerning work operations and maintenance. Troubleshoots network performance issues. Analyzes network traffic and provides capacity planning solutions. • Provides database management of the switching systems to include database modification, report creation, printing, backup, restore, and purging of files. • Perform database changes and error recovery using the system software and database software routines. • Provide inventory management for equipment and continuously monitor spares levels against the required stock levels. • Perform Responsible Officer (CRO) duties 24x7 as required in support of the Network requirements to ensure availability on all shifts. • Provides the routine testing and analysis of all elements (including power, software, communications machinery, lines, modems, and terminals). • Utilizes software and hardware tools and identifies and diagnoses complex problems and factors affecting performance. • Ensures that all information systems are functional and secure. • Provide infrastructure support including: pulling, splicing, installing, terminating and troubleshooting copper and fiber. • Complete electronic documentation of all work completed for change requests and incidents. • Provide assistance in site surveys in order to provide engineering team correct materials, tools, bill of material estimates, etc. needed to complete projects.

Experience/Educational Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline. • Experience working with relevant systems and networking principles • Ability to interact with employees at all levels • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, influencing skills and ability to work effectively with a team • Experience with Network systems and servers, networking systems integration (hardware, software, network, and database). • Knowledgeable of network operations, network security, system operation and performance, and system effectiveness. • Experience with system tools • Experience in data, voice and video networks
