What You'll Get to Do:
  • Provide software capability expertise and act as first-line technical support for the program.
  • Works day-to-day on priorities as set by the Government program engineer(s), works with the Functional Managers to better understand new capabilities and limitations of the delivered software, and working alongside the Government's third-party IT vendor, assists with resolution of system and software functionality issues as they occur.
  • Assists the Government and its IT vendor with the installation, integration, and operationalization of the software and helps resolve any technical issues with the software, software environment, permissions, data, etc.
  • Serve to bridge the gap between the Government and the software developers for definition and refinement of desired outcomes.

More About the Role:

As the Site Software Engineer you will:
  • Establish, maintain, and expand strong customer relationships via face to face meetings, informal tag-ups, and open communication.
  • Provide on-site technical troubleshooting/support to analyze, identify, and resolve problems relating to the software, data, environment, permissions, etc. Problems can range from simple to large-scale and technically complex.
  • Develop and/or use troubleshooting, monitoring, and reporting tools to analyze the root cause of serious and impactful technical issues and assist the Government and Government's IT vendor in building stable, sustainable solutions and improvements.
  • Understand the various inputs to, and outputs from, the application to ensure fully integrated and coordinated problem resolution.
  • Provide software maintenance during routine, emergency, and USSTRATCOM exercise periods including 24-hour support as dictated by mission needs. This may require the position to have a "backup" and to provide support during real-time operational and exercise events, as required.
  • Work side by side with the Government, Government's IT vendor, other contractors, and the software developers to uncover and diagnose issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Escalate issues to the appropriate source to resolve any software problems that the Site Liaison can't resolve.
  • Work with both the software team and the Government to ensure issues, desired outcomes, etc. are understood by all involved. Assist the Government with defining their desired outcome, such as identifying and documenting software changes needed to correct errors or provide enhancements.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Positions require an active TS and the ability to successfully obtain SCI Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) and Special Access Program (SAP) access.
  • BS degree in a technical discipline with recent experience in system and software integration, test, requirements analysis and definition, software deployment, and troubleshooting.
  • 8+ years of planning experience will also be accepted in lieu of a BS degree.
  • Hands-on experience working with tools and technologies in
  • 2+ years of the following areas: software development, configuration control, testing, security, automation, containerization, orchestration, cloud services, open-source technologies.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Recent experience in nuclear planning and analysis, strongly desired.
  • Active TS/SCI
