Overview: - They have a homegrown automated provisioning system. It specifically geared for traditional non production environment for devs who spin up automated compute, sandbox testing, development proof of concepts for new apps, etc. - Team is responsible for supporting this - Main application is written in Node.JS and using various components to manage calls into backed VRO provision and also a system that manages application inventory. It's the main application for the inventory system Day to day: - Supporting this system and troubleshooting failures in the system - It automatically creates a JIRA service desk ticket with information form the logs to go look for. Trouble shoot the logs, see where its failing - If they can fix it they do, they escalate to the team who can. Linux Experience: - Most of this is the application itself. It's written in Node.JS running on Linux. Most of interaction with Linux is getting into the logs on the Linux server and stopping and starting the application. - Some folks on the team are more adverse in Linux and if they have a failure in the computing environment that is a Linux build, these guys can help troubleshoot this. This is a mix App Support Engineer/Sys Admin/Site Reliability Engineer - Primarily support Engineer. Development work: - Current team being DevOps, if they find a failure within the main code, they need to be able to go in there and fix if they have the ability to do so. - This will not be their primary responsibility. Its development as far as fixing a big or something. There will be no NEW development.
