As the Sr Construction Architect you will be responsible for the internal/external construction architecture of pharmaceutical/biopharma/food & beverage and science & technology projects. As a licensed Architect you will have the ability to execute and lead the architectural discipline through all phases of design including initial programming, planning, code review, feasibility, scope and concept development, detailed design, construction documentation, and construction administration. We ask that you have project management skills including client relationship cultivation, proposal development and presentation, and team leadership experience. Project sizes will vary and will include both existing building improvements and new construction. Responsibilities
  • Assist with project proposal preparation for the architectural discipline
  • Develop project resource plans and pricing for proposals within the architectural discipline
  • Present Firms' qualifications to new and existing clients
  • Lead ongoing business development activities with existing clients and assist with new client development
  • Meet with clients to assess needs and develop an associated project program
  • Develop conceptual designs and coordinate with engineers on the design team
  • Develop the BIM model for the resulting design and coordinate with the BIM Coordinator and all other internal and external project team members
  • Develop construction drawings and specifications that incorporate client, regulatory, and industry standards
  • Take responsibility for discipline related internal and external project communication and coordination
  • Mentor junior architectural staff and assist in professional development
  • Perform field work as required for project execution (e.g. taking field dimensions, field visits during construction, etc.)

Qualifications
  • Master of Architecture or professional degree from an accredited college required
  • Architectural licensure in practicing states required
  • 15 plus years of experience required
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills required
  • Entrepreneurial, client focused, and leadership skills required
  • Flexibility to travel (15-25%) required
  • Experience with food & beverage and/or consumer/nutrition products industry projects
  • Experience coordinating with process equipment engineers and vendors
  • Experience with the design of refrigerated manufacturing spaces
  • Experience with the design of hazardous and classified environment
  • Experience with pre-cast, tilt-up, and insulated metal panel construction
  • Knowledge of FDA (including FSMA), USDA, 3-A, and cGMP requirements and guidelines is preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred
  • NCARB Certification is preferred
