The Sr. SharePoint Engineer will apply knowledge, experience and engineering principle to design, implement, integrate, optimize and manage client’s SharePoint platforms, environments and infrastructure. The Sr. SharePoint Engineer will respond to incidents, optimize throughput, ensure availability and monitor utilization. The Sr. SharePoint Engineer will also establish standards and enforce governance. Regularly lead and collaborate with team members, business teams and other IT teams to ensure a successful end to end delivery of services. Gather requirements, lead implementations and migrations. Ensure client’s SharePoint environments meet the clients security and GRC requirements. Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to other teams to build their competencies. Constantly review security, currency, performance, licensing and cost indicators and remediate recommendations. Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities:1. Solutions Design: Owns and drives the most complex tasks for SharePoint upgrades, development, administration, configuration and monitoring. Mentors team members and other peers as it relates to SharePoint concepts and solutions. Anticipate problems and adjust designs to solve them. Lead and partner with vendors to ensure delivery if quality products and services. Design, implement and maintain SharePoint content including the integration of SharePoint with other apps. Security including standards and technical enforcement through policy. Governance, standards and enforce technically through policy. Monitoring, dashboards, and reporting. Search administration, search configuration, user profile service, site design, site creation, audit log, eDiscovery. Ability to develop PowerShell scripts to automate the administration of SharePoint and perform actions over SharePoint infrastructure and other elements. Design, implement and maintain workflows using tools such as Power Apps and Power Automate. Utilize configuration management tools to maintain consistency of the environment. Administer and support other Microsoft 365 services such as Viva, Yammer, OneDrive and Teams.2. Problem and Incident Management: Provide knowledge transfer to peers, QA and support teams to ensure open issues are resolved in alignment with design requirements and client technology standards. Provide support on an on-call rotation basis. Perform or lead break/fix analysis and troubleshooting. Meet incident and request ticket SLAs. Escalate as needed. Research and remediate recommendations for security, cost, compliance, performance, etc. Research and apply vulnerability remediation.3. Technology Lifecycle Maintenance: Lead and drive currency and other related upgrades for SharePoint. Partner with business sponsor to drive and maintain alignment on roadmap activities. Performs planning and implementation of changes to SharePoint environments. Coordinate with the required resources and plan timelines for maintenance activities. Follow Change Management processes.4. Project Technical Leadership: Great communication skills. Ability to work within deadlines. Ensure project team is correctly aligned regarding the architectural direction, scope, quality, and timelines. Effectively interface with other teams to understand business requirements, establish thresholds, action plans / run books and help customers understand and leverage technology. Oversee progress of the team to ensure consistency with the initial design. Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching to developers and engineers. Communicate all concepts and guidelines successfully to the project team. Train/facilitate discussions cross functionally to ensure new plans are understood and adhered to.General Responsibilities/Accountabilities: 1. Effectively cares for all corporate property, tools and equipment in order to minimize cost. 6. Cross Functional Working Relationships (CFWR): Identify opportunities to work collaboratively with peers and other work groups, exhibit professional behavior, and promote positive working relationships. 7. Minimum Qualifications:Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics OR an equivalent combination of experience and education required. 5 years of hands-on experience in the development, administration, configuration, monitoring and upgrading of SharePoint.Desired: Upgrading & migrating SharePoint Content from on premise SharePoint to SharePoint Online using third-party migration tools & PowerShell scripts. Administration of other M365 services such as OneDrive, Yammer, Viva and Teams. Managing and provisioning of M365 licensing. Automating various tasks as well as generating custom reports. Security frameworks such as NIST, Zero Trust and regulatory compliance. Certificate provisioning and management. Microsoft 365 certifications.Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesLeading projects, implementations and meetings to facilitate the delivery SharePoint services. Designing and implementing site layouts, navigation, hubs, security, compliance and governance for SharePoint. Designing, developing & upgrading SPFx solutions. ShareGate, PowerShell, Power Apps, Power Automate or similar tools. SharePoint governance standards and policies. Troubleshooting SharePoint-related issues. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to lead collaboration with resources across multiple disciplines. General experience in a wide variety of technical areas including, but not limited to: infrastructure, servers, network web applications. Intranet services, configuration management, workflow automation / orchestration, process automation. Time Demands:1. This role is considered a “non-essential” role, however, this role may be required to report to work to support the restoration of normal business operations.2. Maintain regular and predictable attendance in alignment with Departmental policy.3. Must be available for overtime work and call-outs as required to ensure continuance of efficient operation.4.
