Charles Schwab's Retail Segmentation Strategy group is focused on developing differentiated client experiences for Retail clients based on client characteristics. This position involves a combination of execution and a cohesive client experience across client segments. This includes handling cross segment responsibilities, rationalizing experiences across segments, and identifying new opportunities to enhance segmented experiences. The role provides an opportunity to engage leaders both within retail and across Schwab on a topic, and a project, that will define our retail organization in the coming decade.

What you are good at

Retail Segmentation serves two primary functions:
  • Deliver on the retail segmentation project, a top priority project for retail over the next few years that aims to build the architecture vital to create differentiated client experiences at scale
  • Develop the long-term segmentation strategy to ensure we are creating cohesive and impactful client experiences across the segmentation spectrum, build cases to support opportunities identified through the strategy, and implement those opportunities to create impactful client experiences
  • This position exists to advise strategic and client experience decisions by putting "through clients' eyes" strategy at the forefront. Developing the segmentation strategy requires tight collaboration with a diverse set of collaborators across retail and the broader organization.

    What you will do: Client Experience Sr. Manager

    Execution

    • Complete the retail segmentation project across workstreams
    • Serve as the primary business point of contact on certain workstreams
    • Ensure workstream breakthroughs are met and recommend resolutions to risks or blockers that may impact project delivery
    • Ensure resolution of business-oriented risks and action items identified through workstream engagement
    • Facilitate cross domain coordination to ensure we are supervising dependencies and results
    • Facilitate cross project coordination within domains so that domains with similar requirements from multiple projects are carrying out together to create efficiencies
    • Update and maintain documents related to project achievements, project plans, and readouts to partners and leaders in partnership with other workstream leads and project managers
    • Maintain segmentation-related content for the field including IWIN pages, FAQs, etc.

    Strategy

    • Maintain backlog of ideas for future enhancements to segmentation and facilitate leadership discussions regarding prioritization of enhancements
    • Engage new groups not currently in scope to share the segmentation vision and collect feedback and ideas on new enhancements
    • Supervise the competitive landscape to understand competitor approaches to segmentation
    • Review key data trends across segments and provide perspective to retail leaders to drive decision making and prioritization
    • Engage with key partners across retail to ensure future experience development is consistent with our segmentation strategy

    What you have

    • A total of 5+ years of experience with strong examples of having worked with diverse set of customers and influencing strategic decisions in complex environments; an ideal candidate has worked at least 3+ years in strategy/management consulting working on a diverse set of problems spanning from pure strategy to program delivery
    • Ability to thrive in ambiguity-exploring new, yet untested concepts, ideas, programs and solving new problems that require working with a wide variety of partners to find solutions
    • Superior analytical skills, research capabilities and attention to detail
    • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences
    • Strong and shown teaming skills, especially in cross-functional teams
    • Comfort in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
    • Advanced capabilities in MS Excel and PowerPoint
    • Prior experience in financial services including experience with financial markets, products, technology is preferred but not required
    • Bachelor's degree required (MBA a plus)
