In our home caregiver position, Wednesday thru Saturday 9am - 9pm (the end times can be adjusted on most days, but not Wednesday or Saturday).
OR, Sunday, Monday, 9 -9 Tuesday 9-4, and Friday overnight. You can pick up more hours if you wish because we would like to have this be your only job, and it is important for her to have the same people around and consistent! She is also very OLD FASHIONED, AND VERY MODEST! She won't even let her son help her with personal hygiene, or a new female person until she feels she knows and trusts you. Also, we don't have back ups or extra people to fill in for sick or time off at the last minute, so you must be dependable, healthy, on time, and be here for your shift every day. THAT INCLUDES HOLIDAYS IF YOUR SHIFT FALLS ON THEM.

Must have lots of experience with Demenica and Alzheimer's, have or have held a CNA certificate or highrr, have compassion, great conversationalist, mom is blind, hard of hearing, and we are looking for someone who can HELP to give her QUALITY OF LIFE! You will be here as an independent contractor, with a 1099/misc. issued at the end of the year by our CPA. We are NOT looking for someone who just wants a pay check, wants a job for a short period of time, or asks "what is the pay?" as one of the 1st questions. This is an extremely easy position, you only have one person to care for, VERY relaxed environment, a very sweet 94 year old, old fashioned woman, loves leg and foot massages with lotion daily, comb her hair, hold her hand, walk her to the bathroom, do peri care when she trusts you, fix her snacks and meals, accompany us to dinner when we can get out, be her eyes and ears to watch TV or find music she loves, and help try to make her life worth living We are trying to keep our promise to her of keeping her at home
You must be able to speak English VERY PLAINLY, VERY SLOWLY, AND VERY LOVENLY so she can understand you. She is very sensitive, emotional from loosing Dad 5 years ago (they were married 70 years). We might consider a live in position for the right person, but only in an extremely beneficial situation for both parties.
Background check and references with phone numbers are required! We are self pay, have no Medicaid help, and not part of any agency. You must respect our home, be ok with surveillance cameras, and take care of our property.
If you are VERY interested, we will schedule an interview, please come to the interview, understand all the above, and we are interested in you This doesn't have to be hard, it's all common sense, just be honest, professional, able to listen to direction and follow it, follow her Doctors orders, be true to us and yourself. If you accept the job, and don't complete at least 4 full weeks of scheduled hours, any paid training hours will be deducted from your last check. You also need to know, dementia and Alzheimer's people will have an advance in their disease with every change in staffing, so THIS IS DEFINATLY NOT JUST A PAYCHECK OR JOB, IT'S LIFE AND DEATH FOR MY MOM!
