Kay Dee Company is a manufacturer of custom made casework, cabinetry and counter tops for both residential and commercial customers. We are looking for the right person to join our team of experienced professionals.
Position Description
Perform one or more staging or preparation assembly operations to produce wood products. Operations may include but are not limited to cutting, shaping, and assembling wooden articles. Set up and operate a variety of woodworking machines such as a table saw, router, etc.
General Duties
Produce and assemble custom cabinets, radius walls, furniture, many of which are "one off" pieces.
Verify dimensions or check the quality or fit of pieces to ensure adherence to specifications.
Attach parts or sub-assemblies together to form completed units, using glue, dowels, nails, screws, or clamps.
Set up and operate machines, including table saws, routers, sanders and dove tail machines to cut, mold, or shape wood stock or wood substitutes.
Measure and mark dimensions of parts on paper or lumber stock prior to cutting, following blueprints, to ensure a tight fit and quality product.
Reinforce joints with glue, nails, screws or other fasteners to prepare articles for finishing.
Cut lumber to the correct size and shape and trim parts or joints to ensure a snug fit, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
Match materials for color, grain, or texture, giving attention to knots or other features of the wood.
Assist in loading trucks; may drive to job site to make deliveries
Ensure work area is clean and organized on a regular basis
Perform other duties as assigned
Areas of Experience: Minimum of one (1) years in wood fabrication experience required, two years of building industry knowledge preferred
Education: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required
Job Requirements
Willing to obtain other training if deemed necessary in performance of responsibilities and continuing education
Knowledge
Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Work is in a warehouse setting and may be performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.
Employee must have clear, close vision for reading and computer work. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, balance, stoop, grasp, talk, hear and operate computer keyboard. Job may require reaching at or above shoulder level and below waist. Will occasionally lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds.
Able to spend extended periods on their feet or walking.
Job Type: Full-time, starting pay $20 to $25 per hour depending upon experience and abilities.
