What does a great Systems Engineer do?

Primary technical responsibility of this position will be to manage all aspects of the Control-M/ CA7 and/or Autosys Scheduling function, Administration and Scheduling Tools migrations.
  • Understanding of Scheduler platform architecture and configurations, Distributed systems high availability over highly available databases
  • Use your expertise in scheduler Installation, Configuration and Administration for Distributed Environment - Autosys and/or Control-m
  • Setting up new Autosys / Control-M environment with experience in migration from third party scheduling tool to the required scheduler
  • Component security with SSL, firewall and full Control-M Server and EM security and/or
  • Install and configure Autosys Event manager/ Scheduler, WCC and EEM Security components
  • Installation for Automation agent for Z/OS CA7 Edition, CA7 Web Client and related configurations
  • Understanding of Control-M / Ca7 & Autosys concepts and components. Able to perform trouble shooting at component level.
  • Participate in DR and business continuity tests and support the design and function of high availability solutions
  • Delivery, implementation and support of
    • Control-M Add-ons and Plug-ins like Forecast/Batch Impact Manager/Self Service/File Transfer etc.
    • Autosys Job types, v 12 agent installation and related plugins
  • Ability to understand different Alerting integrations with service management platforms (Incident Management)
  • Create knowledge and process documentation for use by broader community
  • Integration of different ITSM Tools, LDAP etc. with Control-M and / or Autosys.
  • Control-M / Autosys Batch development and scheduling skills and ability to manage critical process workflow
  • Coordinate with App Dev in analyzing and troubleshooting issues
  • Scripting knowledge in SHELL, POWERSHELL, PERL, VB script etc.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities specific to department functions and activities
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by supervisor.
  • Ready to Work on Shifts

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • 3+ years' experience with Control-M and/or AutoSys
  • Previous experience with the Systems Monitoring configurations using industry standard tools
  • User / system management Audit support and DR testing and management experience required

Preferred Skills, Experience and Education:
  • Experience with CA schedulers
  • Any additional experience with CA iDash / BMC. BIM would be preferred
  • Familiar with implementing Custom site standards and usage of BMC Workload Change Manager / CA7
  • Understanding of network / systems Performance analysis and prior experience with Distributed environment, patching management would be a plus
  • SQL programing design and testing experience with applications and reports
  • nowledge and experience with scheduler systems with the ability to design and implement all requirements for processing and alerting complicated tasks.
  • Understanding and experience with the use of Certificates, CA, and Certificate tools that manage certificates.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and troubleshoot skills.
