What does an exceptional Senior Software Developer do?

We're looking for a Senior Software Developer to help maintain core development for Government Solutions Technology. As a Senior Developer, you be working directly with business partners as well as internal project managers and other development resources to identify business need and appropriate technical solutions on applications. Responsible for designing, prototyping, coding, testing, analyzing and documenting quality software. You will work on revenue generating projects and collaborate with senior developers, business analysts and project managers to identify business needs and build appropriate solutions. This role is critical to the ongoing success of the department. You will develop client facing applications that move money for the client. It's a customer focused application analysis position with an emphasis on Government Payment Solutions.

As a Senior Software Developer, you can look forward to:
  • Collaborating with clients and internal partners on design strategies for client implementation projects.
  • Advising with project teams and functional units on the design of important projects or services.
  • Developing and supporting various web and desktop applications using Java, Spring, Oracle, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS.
  • Partnering with system teams for integration projects to include statements, reporting, funding, posting, fee billing, and payment processing workflows.
  • Developing program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications.
  • Providing recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code.
  • Analyzing complex requirements and translates business requirements into product designs.
  • Writing functional and technical specifications and other forms of documentation.
  • Planning, analysis and forecasting activities to plan projects and tasks.
  • Analysis, development, testing, break-fix, and on-call duties as needed.
  • Adhering to delivery Framework, and SDLC best practices.
  • Being detail oriented, analytical and using your problem-solving skills.
  • Analyzing, designing, implementing, and supporting production business applications.
  • Using strong verbal and written communication, with your ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.
Required Qualifications for consideration:
  • High School Diploma with 6-10 years of relatable experience and/or Military experience.
  • 6+ years of Java and at least one server-side technology (Spring, Struts)
  • Familiar with SQL
  • Familiar with Jira, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Confluence.
Preferred Qualifications for consideration:
  • Technical Lead experience
  • CI/CD continuous improvement and continuous delivery
  • Have functional-Technical knowledge of payment authorization, fraud detection systems and smart routing applications.
  • Experience with payment ecommerce systems, payments gateways and payment processors.
