Job Overview
We are a small family owned Refrigerated Trucking Company and expanded our fleet and need a person with Trucking experience to help with all aspects of Dispatching and Logistics. Wanting someone that is looking for long term and wanting to learn and be part of our team. We are very service and communication oriented.
Responsibilities:
Assist in dispatching drivers for pick-up and deliveries.
Entering booked loads into our system
Booking loads
Posting available trucks
Calling and emailing customers
Answering phones
Assist in Safety
Be able to adapt quickly to continually changing load times, delivery times, scheduling, driver availability and other conditions
Building relationships with drivers, customers, office personnel and owners/operators as a team
Must be able to be on call at least 1 weekend per month and 1 night per week.
Hours are M-F 8am to 5 pm except when on call
Skills:
Trucking industry experience is required
At least moderate computer skills required
High school or GED preferred
Must be motivated
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Mel Easton and Sons, Inc. have been in business since 1984. Family owned and operated in Council Bluffs, IA. We do mostly regional freight, but not all. We move refrigerated truck loads of meat and other products in the MIdwest, South and East. We run a full-service terminal with multi-bay repair shop with Truck/Trailer parking and offices.
