Robert Half is seeking Systems Engineer candidates in the Investment Management/Companies industry to join the team of a local client. This position is a key contributor to the maintenance and optimization of the client's network and wireless infrastructure, so our Systems Engineer must be prepared for such duties. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Omaha, Nebraska area, 100% ON SITE.How you will make an impact- Write down and keep up custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks- Assist in the design of information and operational support systems- Configure, test, install, and maintain application software, operating systems, and system management tools- Assist with 2nd and 3rd level support- Work together with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution- Screen and analyze application performance for potential bottlenecks, specify possible solutions, and act jointly with developers to apply those fixes- Oversee and follow up on all installed systems and infrastructure- Hold up redundancy strategies, backup, and security- In a proactive manner provide the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability Requirements - 1+ years of relevant experience - This position will be the best fit for a candidate with proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting various operating systems - Applicants with solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks are preferred - You might be a good fit for this position if you have experience with virtualization and containerization - Experience with monitoring systems is required for success at this position - It is preferred for applicants to have solid networking knowledge- Adeptness in Basic Network Troubleshooting- Previous experience working with Networking- Comprehension of Microsoft Windows Server- Adeptness in TCP/IP- General familiarity with PaaS- Configuration management experience- Demonstrated knowledge of IaaS- WANs (Wide Area Network) experience highly preferred- General familiarity with Basic Troubleshooting- Earlier work involving Vendor Management- System Configuration experience- Routers experience required- Background working with VPNs (virtual private networks)- Citrix experience preferred- Virtualization experience highly desired- Practical knowledge of SDN- Firewall experience desired- Foundational knowledge in cabling- Deep understanding of switches- Aruba experience desired- Automation experience highly desired- Prior experience with Microsoft SharePoint- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office 365- MS Windows 10 experience highly valued- Expertise in VMware- Practical knowledge of LAN (local area networks)- Demonstrated knowledge of Basic Network Troubleshooting- Experience with OneDrive- Good understanding of System Engineering - This position will be the best fit for a candidate who has solid scripting skills - This position will be the best fit for a candidate who has experience with automation software Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
