Position Purpose

Meets established production requirements for packaging loose hooks in designated quantities.

Knowledge/Skills & Experience

Must be able to read, write in English in order to follow basic instructions, and able to do basic math in order to read work orders, and maintain daily production records.

Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.

Prefer prior assembly or packing experience.

Prefer basic computer skills

Essential Duties

Receives job sheet(s) and specified fishhooks from staging area.

Reviews the job sheet and determines the type and quantity of packaging needed and gathers them from the parts storage area.

Checks packaging material to assure that they are correct and match the ones indicated on the job sheet.

Acquires written packaging specifications, if necessary.

Observes hooks during the packaging process for possible defects such as bad plating, mixed hooks, etc.

Inspects hooks visually for inconsistencies and defects during the packaging process and reports any quality issues to Supervision.

Packs the fishhooks into plastic bags or boxes, and cartons. Labels the package with the correct identification.

Packages hooks to an established cartons and/or hooks standard per hour for the Handcount operation.

Completes the paperwork for the work order and set the finished product on a designated skid or cart.

Transacts the job using provided computer.

Maintains daily time and production records in accordance with established procedures and turns them into the Crew Chief at the end of the shift.

Observes all safety and good housekeeping regulations.

Maintains a clean work area and keeps floors clear of hooks, banding, and trash.

Other Duties

Performs other similar work, when necessary, in other areas or other departments such as Rework, Bulk Pack and Shipping.

Works in other departments when needed, such as Shipping. When working in other departments, must follow the job description and KSA’s of that department

Physical Environment & Working Conditions

Must be able to work in factory environment where they may come in contact with dust, grease and some chemicals.

Must be able to sits and/or stand for 10 hour shift.

Must be able to lifts up to 10 lbs. and occasionally 40 lbs.

Must be able to bend, stoop and twist to occasionally remove and/or place boxes of hooks on skids.

Must be able to use arms to reach up and/or out over head and shoulders with to, push/pull and lift packaging materials.

Must be able to climb ladders up to 12 feet.

Must be able to uses a hand stapler on a regular basis throughout the day.

Equipment Used

Uses weigh scales, hand staplers, heat guns, sealers, ladders, and computer for transactions.Apply Now
