Join us, and BUILD YOUR WORLD.A Brief Summary of This Position:The Field Service Technician is responsible for supporting dealers/customers in regards to questions about installation, troubleshooting and website navigation for AgSense, BaseStation, ICON, Scheduling and Water Delivery products to new and existing customers. This involves consistent customer support and interaction, as well as travel to customer sites to diagnose issues and provide training for ongoing maintenance and resolution of technical issues.The Field Service Technician will be based in Pasco, WA and work closely with the Technical Territory Managers and Directors of Technical Sales to resolve any dealer and grower satisfaction issues.Essential FunctionsSupports the development and implementation of new product rollout plans that the Service groups will need for training

Answer dealer/customer questions regarding installation, troubleshooting and website navigation

Determine the nature of the call and determine the best path to resolution; either resolve the problem or escalate to Field Service Engineer

Program modems and keep and maintain database of devices

Create return merchandise authorization (RMA)s and document warranty claims

Assist customers inquiries about products and services during high call volume

Prepares product and/or service reports by collecting and analyzing call data

In conjunction with Valley service staff, plan and present for technical products suite at Valley Service Schools

In Field Dealer/Grower visits as necessary

Provides tech training to dealers, Valley Territory Managers, and Tech Sales Staff

This position reports into International Director of Technical Sales, and works under the guidance of the Field Service Engineers

This role requires up to (50%) travel, including overnight stays

Other Important Details about the Role:Must have the ability and personality to calmly deal with and de-escalate tense situations in the field and on the phone

Effectively communicate technical solutions, ideas, and questions

Must be flexible for overnight travel on short notice. Mostly domestic, and sometimes international

Must see things through to completion

Be a self-starter and able to work without immediate supervision

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):Associates Degree with 5+ years relevant experience or 7+ years of relevant experience

The ability to solve problems and make decisions effectively

Valid U.S. driver’s license, passport and ability to travel

A strong working knowledge of Microsoft office suite, and software systems in general

Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years relevant experience

Farm background

Previous experience in Ag Irrigation service

Previous experience in Precision Ag Industry

Certified Electrician

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:Work is typically performed in an office and field setting; however, the incumbent needs to be able to move about the office, production area, shipping warehouse, dealerships, and international site facilities as assigned. The incumbent has to be able to support Sales, Marketing, Service, Engineering and Operations. This support includes visits to both indoor and outdoor locations during all seasons of the year. The Technical Sales Manager must be willing and able to travel both locally and to the field approximately up to 75% of the year and, in uncommon instances, at short notice. The work environment can be fast-paced and demanding especially during peak sales seasons. Although some of the administrative tasks are repetitive and may seem mundane, the job has new challenges every day.Most of the tasks are sedentary tasks. Employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The incumbent is occasionally required to move around, use hands to type, handle, feel, grasp, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. It is rare that an employee would have to climb up to an elevated height such as from a ladder, but the incumbent does have to have the ability to climb stairs as some areas of the plant and dealer’s offices can only be accessed by climbing a flight of stairs. There are trips to grower’s fields and the employee needs to have the ability to move about the crop area.
