OverviewPosition Overview:The Jr. Performance Engineer assists in planning and executing the performance evaluation of newly adopted Medicaid/Medicare Application logic and functionality, and the infrastructure hosting the software. This hands-on position includes interacting with each application Development team, DevOps, Security, and IT Infrastructure for workflow, performance, and automation specifications. The resource will work via supervision by senior team members and independently, as deemed appropriate per demonstrable competencies, to apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills, and facilitate identity, validation, automation, and communication disciplines, to resolve systems/software application performance issues, through the development & execution of performance testing strategies, principles, and practices.You will be responsible for assisting in the design and execution of performance tests against different applications, across establish platforms, research, and Development engagements. This role demands a high level of team-work, responsibility, eagerness to expand technical knowledge, strive to gain ownership, and commitment supporting performance, stress, and capacity planning across all client facing applications.Your Impact:Assists in establishing performance requirements by evaluating business strategies and mandates; researching industry performance standards; conducting system capacity, threshold analyses, and load assessments; studying architecture/platforms; identifying integration bottlenecks; preparing cost estimates.

Assists in design, maintenance, and test execution against the entire stack or individual applications as per agreed upon plans, and/or for each release.

As directed by senior performance team members, collaborate with QA, Development, DevOps, Security and Architecture teams to ensure proper, defined performance specifications are maintained.

Assist in definition and revision of standard set of benchmarks and analysis deliverables on a consistent basis.

Partner with the Performance Team to leverage available technologies, to develop and/or maintain in-house developed performance testing tools.

Assist in performing thorough analysis of results, visualizing metrics, and presenting to stakeholders.

Consistently demonstrate growth of expanding skill-set and knowledge as an “expert-in-training”, who makes detailed-level contribution to design choices and technical standards, regarding various infrastructure such as servers, operating systems, load balancers, backup schemes, file systems, tools, platforms and cloud strategies.

Co-authors Performance guides and standards to be used by IT and Security Engineers for building systems.

What You Bring:2 -3 years of experience participating the delivery performance solutions, including working on High-Availability infrastructure design, implementation, and operations.

Demonstrable knowledge in systems engineering, performance tuning, cloud-based architecture, enterprise integration, and interoperability in a complex systems environment.

Demonstrate knowledge with tools like HP Loadrunner and/or JMeter including scripting and correlation skills using multiple protocols.

Strong in High-Availability infrastructure build-out consisting of Hardware Load Balancer, Virtual Load Balancer, Cloud Load Balancer, Redundancy, Fail-over, and Fault-tolerance would be a plus

Demonstrable competencies in an industry leading Load testing tool for .NET applications with options for multiple browsers, Intel physical-server, and Cloud-based infrastructures would be a plus

Demonstrable competencies in Windows Server & SQL Server Architecture, design, and performance tuning would be a plus

Demonstrable competencies in Azure Architecture, design, and performance tuning would be a plus

Strong supporting senior team members in working with High Demand Web Applications on the Public Internet.

Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to contribute authoring a wide range of technical documents.

Strong ability to work with senior staff team members.

Demonstrable ability to comprehend strategic thinking approaching about business, product, and technical challenges.
