Due to our 21+ year charter school in the Reno area, we are:

Seeking Educators (Teachers serving students in third through twelfth grade)

Position: Certified Education Teachers

Start Date: Immediately

Salary: We follow the WCSD salary schedule. Salaries based on education and experience.

Education Requirements: Minimum Bachelors Degree in Education or related field and be eligible to obtain a Nevada teaching license.

Experience: Experience in elementary, intermediate, and high school preferred. Candidates are expected to assess students using a spectrum of tools. Candidates are expected to use assessment data to design Personal Learning Plans for all students and deliver high quality instruction using a circle, center, seat model with blended learning leveraging technology. Candidates are expected to deliver a positive behavior support system that enhances social and emotional growth. Candidates are expected to engage students and their families to support the small school community. Experience in and understanding of these areas are preferred. Experience coaching and facilitating learning is essential to the school model.

Other Requirements: Must meet all certification requirements as a highly qualified education teacher in grades fourth through twelfth grade. Candidates are expected to understand child and adolescent development and be passionate about teaching/inspiring students. Candidates should have a strong working knowledge of technology in the classroom setting.

Job Description: Education teachers are expected to work as part of a collaborative P-12 team ensuring all children are literate, problem-solvers, leaders, and productive citizens. Each member of the team is expected to adhere to high expectations and deliver effective instruction that yields positive student outcomes. Teachers work as a team to develop Personal Learning Plans for every student in all subject areas based on school-wide assessments and ensure student engagement, achievement, growth. All teachers are expected to implement the SNACS model using choice and PLAY ensuring all students learn. This requires teachers to be experts in facilitating learning across all learning platforms and not solely directed teaching. Whole group instruction time is minimal. Assessment data and Personal Learning Plans are used to design instruction using a circle, center, seat model and ability groups by subject area through promoting choice. Teachers are expected to deliver a positive behavior support system that enhances social and emotional growth. Teachers are expected to engage students and their families to support the small school community.
