REMOTE (Nevada, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio or Pennsylvania) Term: Direct Hire Position Description: The Engineer SR Network directs IT personnel and teams to ensure that our organization's systems and networks remain secure and reliable throughout the day. In this role the Senior Network Engineer is responsible for managing the use of wide area networks (WANs), local area networks (LANs), and organization-specific networks. They also take a high-level overview of information technology needs while leading teams that maintain computer networks, monitor network availability, and collect data to enhance security and reliability.
  • Helps, motivates and guides junior team members
  • Senior level, hands on experience with Cisco ACI multipod, multisite, golf and ACI contracts (Plus)
  • Oversees some of the deployment and configuration of infrastructure solutions
  • Advance troubleshooting of infrastructure technology related to problem and incidents
  • Provides support by performing troubleshooting which may include, but not limited to problem recognition, root cause analysis, problem resolution, follow-up, and documentation
  • Perform maintenance on IT network hardware and software including the restoration of hardware, software or configurations
  • Install and support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems
  • Participates in the development, deployment and support of automating the build of IT Solutions
  • Provides assistances in leveraging technologies, processes, and disciplines for delivering best in class methods throughout IT Infrastructure
  • Provides support by performing troubleshooting which may include, but not limited to problem recognition, root cause analysis, problem resolution, follow-up, and documentation
  • A key operations resources in the implementation and configuration of BCP and DR procedures
  • Ensures service targets and commitments are met as regards to delivery of IT solutions
  • Perform project management activities for IT initiatives as required
  • SME for IT Network Operational Support
  • Provide input into the technology roadmap strategy
  • Maintains a high level of service delivery, ensuring quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Establish and maintain documentation through best practice processes and procedures
  • On-call support is required
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in field of computer science or information systems preferred
  • Six (6) years or more in an IT environment preferred ITIL V3 Awareness training preferred
    • Four (4) years in IT Network Infrastructure preferred
    • Network Certification CCNA preferred
  • ITIL V3 Awareness training preferred
  • Good network fundamentals including the OSI model, TCP/IP, IPv4 and working knowledge of IPv6
  • Strong, large enterprise experienced required with Cisco ACI a plus
  • Strong technical knowledge of IT enterprise systems and tools
  • Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards
  • Experience in development, deployment and implementation of enterprise business solutions
  • Prior experience with IDS/IPS, network access control, load balancers and firewalls preferred
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively synthesize and communicate about complex situations and concepts to management level employees
  • Proven organizational and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent problem solver who can recognize problems from few or subtle clues and is comfortable with complexity and ambiguity
  • Strong conceptual thinker with the ability to analyze and grasp a situation quickly
  • Ability to operate well at a tactical and strategic level
  • Excellent judgement and a proven ability to make decisions and exercise independent judgment
  • Assist in the coaching and mentoring of junior team members
  • Relentless sense of urgency, with a "can-do" attitude to drive results
  • Excellence technical understanding, analyzing information and Problem Solving
  • Provide support by performing troubleshooting which may include, but not necessarily limited to problem recognition, root cause analysis, research, isolation, resolution, follow-up, and documentation
