Job Description
Our client is currently seeking a Cognos Reports Writer who under minimal supervision, provide cost-effective information technology solutions by creating new, modifying, and supporting existing software applications that are of a complex nature. They are looking for strong Cognos resources that know development but are good at looking at reports and understanding where the Data needs to go (query subjects, changing objects, prompts, and fields, etc.). This job will have the following responsibilities: Follow established change management processes Develop test plan development Provide support Coordinate with software vendors and external service providers Troubleshoot software bugs and provide fixes Provide off hours support, as needed Provide, cultivate and foster excellent customer service Promote adherence to departmental standards Act as a source of direction, training, and guidance for less experienced staff Design and develop various Cognos reports. Good understanding of Cognos development Analyze reporting requirements to determine development methods, development templates, and report design. Design and develop dashboards within Cognos. Use industry leading practices for report development, custom fields, report fields,etc. Work closely with data governance and architects to ensure data on reports are documented Help develop test cases and scenarios with supporting data. Help document reports developed and associated dependencies. Help rationalize report requests Execute the day-to-day activities of Reporting project support Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively manage customer expectationsVacancy expired!
